Services - NFIRS Reporting
One of the requirements for the Assistance to Firefighter Grant Program is reporting incident information into the National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS) web site.
For some Departments this is a difficult process. Many small Departments do not have computer access. If they do have computer access, their internet access is through a dial-up ISP, which is very slow and challenging for navigating the NFIRS system.
While working with Departments on other projects, we have been asked if we would enter their NFIRS information. After doing some research pertaining to cost, we have developed a rate schedule so a Department may contract with us to enter their incident information.
We have developed a standard incident report which we require the Department to use. The Department mails us their reports once per month. We then enter their reports. It's that simple. contact us at jmonroe@firerescuehelp.com for an example of our reports
Why contract with Fire Rescue Help Group to enter NFIRS reports?
We offer consistent reporting.
It is not unusual for the NFIRS reporting to be shuffled around among members, each time requiring the new person to learn the program all over again.
The Department does not have to purchase a computer or High speed internet access.
We have up to date equipment and High Speed Internet access.
Department personnel does not have to be repeatedly trained on how to enter the reports.
Since this is a service the Fire Rescue Help Group offers Departments that receive AFG grants, we have trained personnel to enter reports.
Reports will be entered on a timely basis
Small Departments that have few incidents may not enter reports on a regular basis. We enter reports on a regular basis and ensure reports are entered on a timely basis.
What will it cost the Department to contract with the Fire Rescue Help Group?
The cost to the Department will depend on the number of reports. We guarantee it will not cost you any more than if you had to pay for high speed internet service.Contact us for a price quote.
